Depending on how much time you have, I would even consider teaching particles (such as a, an, the). I thought it was a fairly simple lesson to teach, and I only had a 1 hour class I taught. Plus, I think by the end of the tutoring session my student felt like he learned something and that his english was really improving!

Like Jack said. You have personal pronouns done. I'd get them reading and speaking simple sentences using familiar vocabulary.

 I remember the first chapter of a Spanish text. It was the story of a man and family. Simple sentences of noun/pronoun, verb and object. Eg.  Juan is a fisherman. Today the sun is shining and Juan paints his boat. After that he goes to the bar to drink wine. He has a son xxx, and daughter . He is married. Carmen prepara la cocina, y xxx ayuda......

Simple language, and having a copy to read later, will get people grounded in the language. And using words in English that are almost the same as the Spanish ones makes it easier to get started.  

The pronunciation of the English vowels that do not exist in Spanish--starting with learning to hear the difference between them and the closest Spanish vowel.

Specifically, the vowel counts in cat, pet, sit, fly, dear, saw, boy, out, took, shut, earth... and, above all, the schwa (indefinite vowel, like the "a" in "about." and the "e" in "dozen."

The consonant "z" and the sound "th."

Saying words that begin with "s" followed any another consonant, without putting a Spanish "e" in front of them (student, not estudent).

Well I taught personal pronouns last week and my students were so enthusiasm, in fact when they started making senteces they improved a lot.
