To the beautiful young girls who have recently become an Italki member

As you know Italki is not a dating site. It's for learning new language, getting familiar with other cultures, finding new friends to communicate with, Not a girlfriend or boyfriend. Here we have lots of men and women whose main goal is language learning ONLY. However unfortunately when I see the profile of some men, I see while they choose a tons of female tutor/teacher or friend, male persons are rarely selected. Some other wait to see whenever a beautiful girl submit a looking for partner message, request her for partnership. 

To be honest, as a boy, I don't like to write what I guess about that because that is TERRIBLY disappointing to me. I just feel that it's my duty to tell you to be more cautious if you care about such issues because you are new member and may not know about this.

In the past (a couple of “updates” ago), instead of “friends”, we could see people someone was following and people who were following that someone. It was sort of amusing to see guys following literally hundreds of young ladies, and almost no one following them back. Sort of amusing — just sort of. Anyhow it was a big red flag, IMHO. By the way, this does not affect just “beautiful young girls”, as you put it, but more like any ladies under the age of eighty who dare to use a real photograph and participate on the site.

I started tutoring on italki in August and I've gotten 3 marriage proposals. Also received some disturbing comments from guys. Some guy messaged me two days ago randomly with 'I like French kissing'

I didn't receive any marriage proposals :)  but I do agree with you Mohammad and also with Alice - new female members must be cautious because there are some men who are not interested in learning any language and don't want to help anyone learn a language. If a man behaves improperly, that man should be reported to italki immediately.

I think male members should also be careful of compliments... randomly telling a tutor/teacher that they are 'beautiful.' 'pretty' can make some people uncomfortable. Showering a woman with compliments is not really necessary on a site like this when teachers/tutors are professional people.

You're not a boy, but a young man. :) I think most Iranians make that mistake because the word پسر is used both for boys and unmarried men. These concepts are expressed differently in English. I think males under the age of 18 are called boys whereas males above that age are called, of course depending on their age, young men or just men.
