Whenever I read the Christian New Testament about the life of Jesus I have often been suspicious that Jesus had been influenced by first century Buddhist missionaries. For example, the temptations of Jesus sound very similar to the temptations of the Buddha. The golden rule is nearly identical to a teaching of Confucius. I would like to know if there are any words in the Christian gospels that are translations of words or concepts from the Pali cannon or from ancient Buddhist scriptures. Can you think of any?

I can tell you with confidence that I have no doubt about anything Jesus said,
but I was really afraid that if I said that someone would throw a stone at me because I might not be considered as a "Christian" haha.
BTW I am still learning English and new things, so tell me if I made a mistake.
Thank you~

Literally:
(1)John 2:15 could be mapped to the "Mah?vaipulya S?tra of Perfect Enlightenment" verses:
<Translation One>
"Good man, when a Bodhisattva manifests his appearance in the world, his birth does not come from love. Out of lovingkindness and compassion, to enable sentient beings to relinquish love, he enters birth and death by using greedy desire as a skillful means. If sentient beings in the Dharma-ending age can discard desires and end love and hate, in order to end forever their cycles of birth and death, and if they diligently seek a Tath?gata’s state of perfect enlightenment, they will awaken to their inherent pure minds."
<Translation Two>
"Good sons, when bodhisattvas appear in the world to teach, it is not based on attachment. It is only their compassionate intention to have the sentient beings discard attachment that they provisionally take on all kinds of desire and enter birth-and-death. If all sentient beings of the degenerate age can cast off their desires and remove love and hate, they will permanently end their cyclic existence. Seeking the perfectly enlightened state of the Tath?gata in their pure minds, they will directly attain awakening."

(2)The sword Jesus bring to the world at Matthew 10:34 could be understood as prajna because one of the main ways prajna is symbolized is as a sword.
(3)Jesus is actually never called himself as God or gods but the son of the father. You can often find it in the Chinese Buddhist canon :
Buddha is often called the father of all living beings or sentient beings.
I think the list could go on and on....

@Tim
I have found some places in Chinese Buddhist canon that can be mapped to Christian gospels.
They can be shown figuratively or literally:
Figuratively:
(1)Jesus wheel:
You may already know the "Ichthys" which is the early symbol for "Jesus fish", but It's possible at an earlier time
it was circular ichthys symbol which resembles the "darma chakra".
Plese refer to the following sites:
(2)Jesus called himself morning star might resemble the morning star that appeared when Buddha reached enlightenment:
John 14:6 I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Revelation 22:16 Jesus called himself Morning star
Peter 1:19 The apostle Peter indicated waht the morning might be.

When a history of ancient China has commenced? When any ancient transcripts has occurred? In Europe we learn only about ancient Egypt and Grece. We know anything or a few about Chinese history. Is this culture older than Rome or Greek?
