What is the difference between novel And soap opera? Can I use Both or no? Wich is more usual?

In English they are different things.
A telenovela is a 'soap opera' in English.
A novel is a type of book telling a fictional story. It can also mean 'new' but when used this way it is a formal word, which is not commonly used in conversation.
