Mandarin Music

Hello, I am starting to learn Mandarin and I see how tones are very important.

I was wondering, does this tonality requirement limit music sang in Mandarin? Is it difficult to write songs because of this?

Tones seem to disappear in music :)

Donnie is right. Tones completely disappear in music. Instead, the tune of the song alone determines its tones. Because of this, we might not know what the lyrics of a Chinese song are just by listening to it.

In China, we call tonality in poetries, opera or song 'yun韵’. It will make the song more attractive and

popular than the songs without tonality. I think it's one of the chinese charming parts.
