Do you think Chinese is difficult?

One of my roommates recently started to learn Japanese. She told me that the pronunciation of Japanese is quite easy. It's like you learn some basic letters then you know all the words. And she said,Chinese is probably one of the most difficult laguage in the world.we are lucky to be native Chinese speakers.Do you (if you have learnt Chinese)agree with her?and why?

I've always had a question... the chinese letters are very difficult to write, much more than in other language, so when you are at the university for example where you need to write very fast when the teacher explains, how do you do??!! I think that is the hardest part of Chinese!

I studied French for three years and it just became too difficult for me.. I remember struggling a lot in my first year.. I didn't strugle with speaking it, but the grammar was very hard for me to comprehend. (All those tenses...)

Now, this is my first year studying Chinese, and I'd have to say the the only hard part for me is the writing. As long as I put effort into my speaking, it seems to be pretty decent and yes, of course, I make errors here and there with my sentence structure.

I think it has to do with the fact that I am so determined to learn the language and that I'm so interested with the culture that learning it doesn't seem like work - it can be a bit challenging, but it pays off in the end.

TL;DR Your mindset has the greatest impact on your ablity to learn the language, not the language itself.

Japanese pronunciation and characters are more easy than chinese but when it comes to grammar nothing beats Chinese. The chinese grammar is very easy compare to any language.
