The best advice I can give you is:

 

1.  Be COMPLETELY open-minded, and do not judge people and matters by the standards that you are used to in China.

 

2.  Throw yourself whole-heartedly into local life.

 

3.  Do not form a Chinatown by surrounding yourself with friends from China.  Feel that you are a citizen of the global village who does not belong to any particular nationality.
