Music that is clear to understand is generally the best choice for English listening practice. But music can also be enjoyable for artistic or cultural value.

I know a lot about music history and music culture of the US and UK. I've been studying it as a hobby for years. I could introduce you to a lot of different music. Although my musical preferences are very wide and sometimes extreme. I enjoy music that ranges between The Carpenters and Genghis Tron.

Oh there are so many wonderful singers. I find that many of my students like Suzanne Vega, Sting and particularly Adele. You can start with those.

Try looking at www.mtv.co.uk for the top 40 charts. It always updates and you can find lots of new music on there while using your English to read articles and news about your favourite artists. I do it with mtv's Japanese site.
