The subway of Mexico City
If you visit Mexico City, one way you can get around is by subway. The subway of Mexico City has 12 lines and 195 stations. It transports 5 million of people every day on average, but you have to be aware of the hour you decide to travel because it can be very crowded, you have to take your time if you don't want to be late. When I was at university, my classes started at 7:30 a.m., so I had to leave home between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Yes, I spent almost 2 hours going to school and almost 2 hours more returning home, every day from Mondays to Fridays. As you can imagine, sometimes I couldn't make it to my fisrt classes on time.
However, in a place with more than 22 million people like Mexico City, the subway is the best way to travel and the cheapest. The cost per trip is 5 mexican pesos, that's 21 cents of a US dollar today. Here is a picture of Pantitlán station in a rush hour.
