Some British slang terms (and some swearwords):
Bloody hell- a mild swearword, an expression of shock, or anger, for example "Bloody hell! You're joking!" or "Bloody hell, I broke it!"
you can also use bloody as an adjective- sort of a milder version of "fucking" like "i cant fix the bloody thing"
chat up- to flirt with as in "i want to chat up that girl over there"
pissed off- annoyed "i was pissed off yesterday"
bollocks- another swearword! it has a lot of different uses- it can be used to express shock/anger, like you would use shit "Bollocks! I've dropped it!" or you can also say something is good by saying "its the dogs bollocks"
the business- its good, if something looks "the business" it looks really good.
gutted- upset, sad, "i'm gutted that my football team lost yesterday"
sweets- candy
quid- a pound as in "i bought a bag of sweets for a pound"
use these in england, or use this list to help you understand an english person. you could use these in another country and they would probably understand you (australians for example, use a lot of these sayings, they say bloody as well for example) but if you used them in america you might look a bit silly (another britishism, an adjective, means a bit stupid or foolish).

also i forgot to mention that most of these words are v. informal and you wouldnt really say them at work or w/e but in a relaxed conversation with british people, they are quite useful.
