Betawinese I am Indonesian, and my ethnic is Betawinese. It is one of many ethnics in Indonesia which its existence is widespread in Jakarta, and It is considered to be the local inhabitants of Jakarta. like many other ethnics, Betawinese has many aspects to proud. For instance, it has amazing traditional dances, such as Topeng dance, and Yapong dance. It is also very famous for its traditional drama (Lenong) that plays Betawi's Life. Besides the dances and Lenong, Betawi has its local dialect, that is well-known as Jakarta dialect. it is very unique; moreover, it has been one of the slang language in Indonesia. Many adolescents or young generations use Bahasa Betawi (Jakarta dialect) to associate with their friends because its usage is considered to be more appropriate in informal situation. Apart from its amazing culture and customs, the existence of Betawinese is going to be vanished because the traditional cultures mix and intermingle. the modernization also plays a big role in eliminating its culture. Even though the government has preserved its culture by establishing Betawi village in Setu Babakan, South Jakarta, it's still not enough to preserve the Jakartans and its culture. I hope that the government will find the appropriate solution to maintain all of the cultures. However, it reflects the national identity.

I am Indonesian, and my ethnic roots are is Betawinese. It is one of many ethnic groups in Indonesia which its, whose existence is widespread in Jakarta and It is considered to be the local inhabitants of Jakarta. like many other ethnics groups, Betawinese has many aspects to be proud of.
