Could I ever go vegetarian? (part 1 of 2)
Well, I keep myself fit. I go running two or three times a week plus I am looking forward to starting yoga asap. I am keen on tennis and popular pádel here in Spain. It could be said that I am a healthy person -or at least I do want to believe that-. I do not smoke at all and I allow myself alcohol from time to time although I do so rarely. As it turns out, I currently hate most of spirits drinks and this can be easily explained by the fact I have been sort of promiscuous dabbling in different kind of booze such as beer, vodka, gin and others through my life. I guess it was not the hangover or the inevitable sickness feeling the day after gulping several shots. No. I just think I never liked the taste of alcohol. I really cannot appreciate it. And that is why today I find so difficult to try an alcoholic drink at night. And at the end of the day, I guess that should be all right since alcohol and health are not good partners at all. I got to own up though the summer is different, then I might sip one or two mojitos on the terrace by hearing the sea sounds. Just delightful. Today, being a vegetarian is not a big deal. I mean, we are surrounded by vegetarians, vegans and all kind of green life styles. I could be a vegetarian. I mean, why not? Strike 1. I love vegetables and fruits. Strike 2. I can easily survive without eating any meat at all. On the contrary, I happen to love seafood. That would be clearly the main problem. Also, I would find it so hard to steer clear from dairy products like milk and yogurts.
I am aware what the actual vegetarianism model really means. Reliable studies on vegetarianism life styles have demonstrated the benefits of this practice. As it is known, the motivations for vegetarianism may include health, religious, environmental and economic reasons among others. Many just object to eating meat out for sentient life.
By traveling I have realized that the definition of vegetarianism and vegan life styles are pretty different in different nations. This significant contrast has to do with many causes regarding foodstuff prices, cultural and environmental reasons again. For instance, being a vegan in United Kingdom would be way easier than in Italy or Spain. Even though we have the very fresh vegetables and fruits right here in Spain and they might be kind of cheap compared to other countries, I cannot imagine anyone being a vegan here in Spain without having visibly impediments.

It's easy to be a vegetarian today (in Catalonia at least). I'm 20 years old and I'm a vegetarian since 2006. I just think in ideological reasons because you can be healthy being an omnivore and I don't consider religious reasons because I'm an atheist. If you want to be a vegan, it's another issue. To remove dairy products and eggs you have to take it more seriously (and to be consequent buying clothes and other).
So I encourage you to take this step (fer el pas?/¿hacer el paso?/how do you say "to do this action"?) and become a vegetarian. And whenever you can, vegan. ;)

Intersting stuff Andres. I'm a vegetarian living in Spain, although I grew up in Australia in a vegetarian family and it's probably easier for me. I find bean and lentil dishes can make good protein sources - have you tried drawing on Indian (their lentil soup known as daal) or Mexican (burritos with kidney beans, another of my favourite dishes) cuisines? Something to think about.
I can kind of identify with your struggle a bit because I grew up with dairy products but am trying to eat less cheese now because I eat too much of it. It's hard when you lived your whole life with it, I agree.
Also, one language thing to point out, "advice" is an uncountable noun (like "sand"), so you'd say "that's actually good avice", without the indefinite article "a".
