Traveling to earthquake damaged town -part1 This weekend I had a travel close to Chengdu city. I traveled a town damaged by a serious earthquake 5 years ago. This town was surrounded by a lot of mountains. It is about 1 and a half hour to arrive there by bus. I watched the pictures before earthquake and pictures after the earthquake. It's so sad almost all buildings were damaged. The small town is very new now because all of the houses were built after the earthquake. Most of the damaged buildings were removed, but there is one place keep in the same state after the earthquake happened. It is the high school in that town. So the town is quite new and beautiful except this high school. This high school is kept this state to remember the earthquake. A lot of persons could not help to cry after the local guider introduced the high school and the information of this town during the earthquake. There are a lot of sad stories. This town had about 9000 persons living there before the earthquake, but about 6000 was killed in that earthquake. The high school I traveled was the best place acted in that earthquake. A lot of people escaped in this high school. Another grade school was not so lucky, most students and teachers was killed. When the government wanted to choose a place keep the state to remember the earthquake, people did not choose to keep the grade school because too many persons died and made people so sad. That's why the not serious high school was chosen to remain the state. There was also a lot of sadness in the high school though it was the most not serious damaged place during the earthquake. There was 8 teachers and 20 students killed and they are still under the crashed building now. It was the class time when the earthquake happened, all students was in classroom. The 4 floors classroom building crashed into 2 floors. , The building fell down after most students escaped from classroom. There were more than 100 students and teachers running in the stair room while the building fell down. They were so lucky the whole building crashed except the stair room. There was one village in that town was not so lucky, the whole village was buried about 50 meters under a mountain.
