Education Education in Colombia is a difficult topic to deal with. Since the creation of the new infant law, that gives more "rights" and permissions to teenagers; we, the teachers, are facing a problematic non-willing to learn times. Students are using the law as a shield that protects them from being responsible. They aren't doing their assigments because they know that the teachers are obligued to give them make up activities; So why bother. They enter to classrooms whenever they want, and we have no other option, but to let them in, otherwise, we could be sued for limiting the learning process which is a right. According to the government, we have to create a motivating enviroment for the students. But what if they aren't really interested in learning anything? There's no motivation that works! I think the law is wrong. I believe it wasn't thought through! I consider it's to permissive and therefore harmful for our society. I don't know where all of this is leading to or how we are going to end up, but nothing seems promising if we continue like this. Our teenagers aren't taking enough responsability regarding what they have in their hands: our future!
