Ikiteru Minna-san konnichiwa. Kinoo no ban wa omoshiroi to hen na yoru deshita. Ikiteru koto no kanashimi to yorokobi o kanji shimashita. Watashi no shinzoo no kodoo ni o kansha shite ita, soshite akarui tsuki ga watashi no yami o karuku shimashita mo kansha shite imashita ( 1). Ryooshin ni aitakatta. Kaze o urayamashikata; Kaze no yoo ni  watashi wa jiyuu to eien i ta koto o nozomimashita (2). Sore yue- ni yume o zettai (ni) mamoru koto o chikaimashita (3). Yume ga utsukushii mono watashi ni o setsuzoku shimashita. Questions: (1) a) I was confused on how to really phrase; it's such a mess      b) "Shinzo no kodoo" is probaby      wrong I used a translator to help me express a "beating heart". So how can I write in Japanese phrases like a " moving car" or a "flying bird" etc   (2) a) how do use " like" or " as" Here I wrote, "kaze no yoo ni" but I am not too sure, what I meant to write was "like the wind." For instance,  how can you write " I want to be like him" or "I wish to be a good singer like her" or "       b)  what is the best way to express " I wished..." (3) Can you a start phrase with " dakara" or how do you use "therefore" in a sentence. The English version: Hello everyone. Yesterday' s evening was an interesting and strange night. I felt the sorrow and the joy of being alive. I was grateful to my beating heart, and to the bright moon that lights up my darkness.  I missed my parents. I was envious of the wind; like the wind I wished I could be free and eternal.  Therefore, I vowed to absolutely protect my dreams. Dreams connect me to something more beautiful.

Questions:
(2) a) how do use " like" or " as"
Here I wrote, "kaze no yoo ni" but I am not too sure, what I meant to write was "like the wind." For instance,  (right transletion)
" I want to be like him"  "Kare-no youni naritai"
 "I wish to be a good singer like her" "kanojo-no youni umaku utaetara ii-noni"

 " I wished..."  "...dekireba ii-noni"  "...dekitara ii-noni"

(3) Can you a start phrase with " dakara" or how do you use "therefore" in a sentence. 
    Usually use "Dakara" but your sentence is literary.So I think you have better use "sore-yue-ni" "yue-ni" ,maybe.
