Why Do People Like to Wear Nike Shoes? More and More people want to by famous brands of clothes, cars and other items. What are the reasons? Do you think it is a positive or negative development? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Over the last few years, the living standards of ordinary people have been dramatically improved. With increasing disposal income comes the need for goods of famous brands and even of luxurious brands. By and large, in my opinion, people buy famous brands goods because of the high quality and the group identity associated with them. And we should view this trend in a positive light. It is fair to say that products manufactured by big companies are generally of higher quality than those made by unknown producers. For example, Nike shoes have gained ever-rising popularity over most parts of the world, and one important reason behind is that those shoes are more comfortable and endurable, and can even cater to the needs of professional athletes. Moreover, the group identity built into those big brand products plays the other important role in making them popular. Many goods of well-known brands, particularly of luxurious brands are been widely used to reflect the consumers social status and therefore become a symbol of wealth and high social status. It should also be noted that this trend has provoked large amount of controversy, but from my perspective, the trend is more positive than negative. To start off, it reveals the fact that people are becoming economic advanced and do not have to struggle with financial difficulties. It is hard to imagine that people afflicted by poverty and financial crisis would have any interest in those big brands. But instead, they would find those cheap but still 'usable' goods more attractive. Another factor worth mentioning is that this trend will stimulate a country's economic development and speed up the shift from brawn to brain, as more innovative work are involved during the design and manufacture of these high quality goods. In conclusion, the popularity of big brands goods can be attributed to the rapid development of a country's economy and the increase of consumers' buying power. We should embrace this trend as it is a symbol of the improved well-being of the populace.

Over the last few years the living standards of ordinary people have been (been is ok here but not necessary) improved dramatically. With increasing disposal income comes the need (desire more than need) for goods of to buy famous brands and even of highly luxurious brands. By and large, in my opinion, people buy famous brands goods because of their high quality and the group identity cachet/status associated with them. And we should view this trend in a positive light.

It is fair to say that products manufactured by big companies are generally of higher quality than those made by unknown producers. For example, Nike shoes have gained ever-rising popularity over throughout most parts of the world and one important reason behind for this is that those shoes are more comfortable and endurable and can even cater to the needs of professional athletes. Moreover, the group identity built into those big brands products plays the other important role in making them popular. Many branded goods, of well-known brands, particularly of luxurious brands, are beening widely used to reflect the consumers' social status standing and therefore have become a symbol of wealth and high social status.

It should also be noted that this trend has provoked a large amount of controversy, but, from my perspective, the trend is more positive than negative. To start off, it reveals the fact that people are becoming economically advanced and do not have to struggle with financial difficulties. It is hard to imagine that people afflicted by poverty and financial crisis would have any interest in those big brands,  but instead, they would find those cheap but still 'usable' goods more attractive. (not sure what the relevance of this sentence is) Another factor worth mentioning is that this trend will stimulate a country's economic development and speed up the shift from brawn to brain, as more innovative work are is involved during in the design and manufacture of these high quality goods.

In conclusion, the popularity of big brands goods can be attributed to the rapid development of a country's economy and the increase of in consumers' buying power. We should embrace this trend as it is a symbol of the improved well-being of the populace.

A pretty good attempt and some useful vocab. Some repetition of words. I think the goods of big brands can simply be described as "big/well-known/famous brands" as we know you are talking about the goods.

I am a bit depressed because I have learned so many new words in recent days but cannot use any of them in my essays. I still lack the ability of making my essays attrictive and appealing, and more importantly, converying some new ideas to readers. I am not satisfied with a dull and monotonic essay which can be easily forgotten once flipping it over. I know I still have a rather long way to go....
