Laia
BOOK’S READING PRESENTATION (It's an oral presentation) Good afternoon, my name is Laia. First of all, let me thank you all for coming here today. The topic of my presentation is my experience with this activity which consists on a book's reading, and, in the final, if you want to ask me anything, please, feel free to let me know. The book is called “The Red House” and was written by Mark Haddon, an English writer, illustrator and screenwriter. “The Red House” is based in the holidays of a family, who spend seven days in a farmstead located in a valley of the Welsh border. I am not going to explain all the situations the family lives during the holidays, but in general, I think the aim of the book, in addition to entertain, is that the reader realises that anybody is perfect. All of us have our problems, our experiences and our points of views. On the other hand, regarding to my experience, I recognise I had never read a book in English. So, when I started it, I thought that I wasn’t going to understand anything. At first this was true, but then, as I read the book, I understood it better. Neither I have known all the words, nor have I sought it in the dictionary, only if the word appeared many times. But the context has helped me to understand it. Moreover, in my opinion, the book is difficult to understand it, but the history is simple, so also this helped me. To conclude, these are all my feelings with the book’s reading, and as I said before, if you have any question, feel free to let me know.

Regarding my experience, I recognised I had never read a book in English. So when I started it, I thought that I wasn’t going to understand anything. At first this was true, but then, as I read the book, I understood it better.
I also didn't know all the words, nor did I look them up in the dictionary unless the word appeared many times. But the context helped me to understand them. In my opinion, the book was difficult to understand, but the story was simple, so this helped me.
To conclude, these are my feelings about reading the book.  As I said before, if you have any questions, feel free to let me know.
