Even though it is spoken "wa", the topic marker particle is written "ha". So in words like "watashi", you normally use the hiragana "wa", but as topic marker you use the hiragana "ha". "Kon'nichi wa" and "Konban wa" are irregular, you also have to use "ha" here.
