About Hugge. Danish people have concept about happiness, which is called “hugge”. Hugge is about more an atmosphere and an experience than things. I’m reading book by Meik Wiking about hugge. He works at the Happiness Research Institute in Denmark. He has made research about where and how people feel hugge. For example, the majority of Danes say they experience most hugge at home. Sixty percent of people say the most huggelig season is autumn and winter. Almost 60 percent of Danes think the best number of people for hugge is three to four. What do you need for feeling hugge? If to hold the opinion of Danes, you should to cook hot drinks (for example, hot chocolate), turn off the phones, put out candles, sit near fireplace with close friends or with immediate family. If the weather is stormy else, it’s will be really hugge!

Unfortunately, the writer gave only statistic for compare opinions of Netherlanders and Danes. The Dutch have concept Gezelligheid. It is similar to hugge. However, the Dutch think that summer is the happiest season. In opinion the writer gezelligheid is a bit more social than hugge. Concerning the happiest season, I think when the weather is cold, it is snowing or raining, you are sitting near fireplace into warm room, you are muffling up in a rug. You are feeling comfort. I imagine it very well because I’m an inhabitant of relatively cold city.

Freezing and cold winter. Did the writer explained why 60 percent of people think the happiest season is autumn and winter?
