Essay: "Life is better today than it was 100 years ago" discuss Life of human beings is continually changing, it is due to the alteration of humanity’s needs. The change involves mainly aspects like health, instruction and entertainment. Firstly, health situation has changed a lot during years, for example: before, children born at home, instead now they do it in a hospital; 100 years ago women died more frequently having a child than presently. Moreover, mass medias and education help to create a wider knowledge and consciousness about health. Secondly, 100 years ago, illiteracy was more frequent than today since the fact that people did not need to study or know something in order to do their job. Also the primary school was not compulsory; as a result of that many people could not write or read. This illiteracy was due also to the fact that in the past only wealthy people could afford education, the others had to work. As a consequence they had not time and money to spend in education. On the contrary, nowadays, a graduation is indispensable for the majority of jobs. Thirdly, entertainment is changed a lot. In fact, in the past there were not television and computer, as a consequence people spent time in a different way. What is more, the new mass medias like radio or television helped people to learn a standard language without influence of vernacular. By the way, there are also some disadvantages due to the introduction of all these mass medias. For instance, now people spend less time talking face to face because they prefer chatting on the internet. It means that for some extent life is not better now, but it is easier and more comfortable. For example, buying something online is easier than going to the shop. On this basis, we can state that now life is surely more safe, not only for the health, but also thanks to the higher rate of information and instruction.

Part 2:

By the way (As above, not in formal writing - However/Having said this), there are also some disadvantages due to the introduction (development) of all of this mass medias. For instance (example), now people spend less time talking face to face (with each other) because (as) they prefer chatting on the internet. It means that for to some extent, life is not better now, but it is easier and more comfortable (convenient). For example (instance), buying something online is easier than going to the shop.

On this basis, we can state that life now (better position) is surely more safe, not only for the (due to the improvements in) health(care), but also thanks (due) to the higher rate of information and instruction (benefits provided and influenced by new technology, and better education.)

- Good text, Davide.

    - I wouldn't use the word 'instruction' but education unless you offer better explanation as to what you mean

    - Treat 'mass media' as a singular noun which we don't pluralize - (also, media is the plural of medium -
never add an 's'), generally no need to use 'the' either.

    - Try not to overuse phrases - find synonyms for - in the past (previously etc.)

     - Some of the phrases in brackets are just suggestions but others I would highly recommend.

     - There are likely a few small errors I have missed or issues which could be improved upon

Part 1:

Essay: "Life is better today than it was 100 years ago". Discuss.

The lives of human beings are continually changing, this is due to the alteration of (in) humanity’s needs. This alteration involves changes to many aspects of life, mainly in health, instruction (education) and entertainment.

Firstly, the health situation has changed a lot during (over the) years, for example: before, children were born at home, instead while now they do it in a are born in hospital; (also,)100 years ago women died more frequently having a child (giving birth) than presently. Moreover, mass medias and education help (have helped) to create a wider knowledge and consciousness about health.

Secondly, 100 years ago, illiteracy was more frequent (common) than (it is) today, since due to the fact that people did not need to study or know something (have academic experience) in order to do their job. Also, the primary schooling was not compulsory, which (as a result) of meant that, many people could not write or read. This illiteracy was due also to the fact that in the past only wealthy people could afford education, the while others had to work. As a consequence, they had not (In exam you should probably write 'didn't have OR hadn't) the time and or (the) money to spend on education. On the contrary, nowadays, a graduation at second level (from high school) if not third level (from university) is indispensable (a necessity) for the majority of jobs.

Thirdly (Third and finally), entertainment has changed a lot. In fact, in the past, technology was limited, there were no televisions and or computers, and as a consequence people spent their time in a different way. What is more (What's more),(Furthermore, - avoid use of the underlined phrase in writing/written contexts) the rise of new mass medias like (such as) radio or (and) television have helped people to learn a standard language without influence of (from) the(ir) vernacular.
