Knackered
A British expression meaning extremely tired, exhausted. Used quite a lot in the UK. Not used across the pond. Example:
Mate, let's go somewhere and drink something! -- I'd like to, mate, but I'm knackered. I'll stay at home and watch the idiot box.

It can also mean 'damaged' or 'broken' to the point of not being able to be used anymore, eg. "Pass me another drill, this one is knackered". Therefore once a person is too tired they can use the same word, "I can't continue running, I'm knackered!"
