A review of Write and Improve.
Did you know the last tool of the University of Cambridge to help you improve your writing? Its name is "Write and Improve", and I'm testing it now for the first time, so I can't tell you all the details of it, but just my first impression (hope it's accurate enough to make the reading valuable).
One of the main characteristics of this system is that is automatic. Is this good or bad? Well, I still don't know. So far, my thoughts on it are these: automatic is a great thing having that you can receive comments and obtain a list of your mistakes in just a few minutes, but it also could mean that the review doesn't add as much information and knowledge about how to get better at writing as what you'd probably be able to get from a professional teacher. This concern is basically the reason that makes me be suspicious about the possibility of that this website be really worth it. Take, as an example to compare, the case of online translator sites. For now, and as far as I know, there aren't any perfect systems for it, so that suggests that an automatic programme for improving your writing skills probably won't be as successfull at the task it's designed to complete as our best desires could imply.
Hope this short review provides you a little bit of information about this tool in order to decide (or not) to give it a try.
