I haven't seen movies of last year, but one of my favorite films is "Portrait of a Lady on Fire" (2019). It is absolutely amazing! This master piece was directed by Céline Sciamma and starred Noémie Merlant and Adèle Haenel. It is about a painter, Marianne, who has to paint a portrait of a beautiful lady, Héloïse. However, this is a very complex mission, because Marianne has to paint a marriage portrait, but Héloïse doesn’t want to get married, so she must not know that her picture is being painted. As a result, Marianne has to pretend she is just a walking companion and try to memorize every detail of Héloïse face and expressions in order to paint her. This film is also a wonderful retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.
