Professionele leerkrachtYou are learning Italian and you want to say “I like living in Italy”.
Easy! “Mi piace vivere in Italia”.
And what about “I like living in Rome”?
“Mi piace vivere a Roma”.
Now it starts to be confusing… why for the first one is “in” and the second one is “a”?
There’s a very simple rule to follow: you need to use “in” in front the name of a country, while you need “a” in front the name of a city.
And what about “I like living in Sicily?”
Sicily is neither a country or a city. Which preposition will you choose?
Mi piace vivere __ Sicilia
in
a
