Differenza fra investire e travolgere
Si può dunque dire "la lince venne investita dalla macchina"/ venne travolta¿?¿ va anche bene?

L'etimologia di 'investire'  porta al  significato di coprire;
travolgere ha un etimo legato a volgere, cambiare;
questo coincide con l'uso che e` del tipo:

-- investito da un mezzo (auto, moto, etc.); 
-- travolto da un sentimento, da un evento;
-- {investito, travolto} da una valanga

Puoi usare tutte e due le espressioni, comunque  il verbo piu` adatto e` investire.
