Which one is correct? " john address" or "john's address"

When we want to show that something belongs to somebody we usually add an 's to the person's name. so John's address (= the address of John) If the person's name ends in an 's' we add 's or just the apostrophe but the pronunciation changes to 'iz' e.g Charles's.
