What the difference between a teapot and a kettle? Do you use a teapot to make a brew?

Firstly, fill the kettle with water and bring to the boil. While the water in the kettle is boiling, place some tea into the teapot. Once the kettle has boiled, pour the boiling water into the teapot, over the tea. Now have a nice refreshing brew!! :)))))))))) A kettle is a vessel for boiling water. http://www.google.co.uk/search?um=1&hl=en&biw=1366&bih=587&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=kettle&oq=kettle&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=5358l7261l0l7507l6l6l1l0l0l0l216l664l1.3.1l5l0 A teapot is a vessel for making (brewing) tea in. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&xhr=t&q=teapots&cp=6&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1366&bih=587&wrapid=tljp1313535187700010&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi Now put the kettle on and make me a lovely cuppa Anna. :)))))))))))

Hi Anna, a teapot in the US is mainly used to hold hot tea, may have some in it to heat. A kettle can be smaller or larger, and have other things to cook or boil. So a teapot would be more dainty, formal. Hope this helps.
