the plural of "linea“ I'm wondering why the plural of "linea" is "linee" instead of "line"?

/ lina / is not an Italian noun (Lina is a proper female name); if it were, its plural would correctly be / line / ; by the same token, line-a gets a plural of line-e ; it is not an exception, it is just the straight rule; another example: principio, pl.: principii principe, pl.: principi (principio and principe have quite differente meanings)
