除夕是农历十二月份的最后一天（有可能是农历十二月三十号，也有可能是农历十二月二十九号），通常很多中国人会通宵不睡，人们把这个叫做守岁。

That's not the last day of A.D year (calendar year). It exists in Chinese traditional lunar year. And the date is usually the day before Spring Day, maybe the 29st or 30st of last month in lunar year.
