Unlike in previous centuries, nowadays, a person's social class at birth can be modified by his or her achievements, typically through education and occupation. If you have enough money, you can also buy social status, however that does not mean that you will be automatically accepted by that higher class of people.

Those "high social status" hot shots always claim everyone is equal, there's no high/low as to "social status". And usually they are too modest not to by the way insist on their single relationship status as well.
