Which is the best word to use to this sentence? "your friend" "a friend as yours" "my friend"? For example, when someone that I send a friend request accept my offer, I want to write a thank-you message. I'm glad to be your friend. I'm glad to be a friend of yours. I'm glad to be my friend. I'm glad to be a friend of mine. Which word should I choose? I heard my friend means boy friend, is that so? Thank you for reading.

I'm glad to be your friend would work best. You can also use "I'm glad to be a friend of yours" but it sound a little unusual. "My friend" simply means that the person you are talking to is a friend, not a boyfriend.

Do not say "I am glad to be a friend of mine." Do not say, "I'm glad to be my friend." Both of these say "I am my own friend." This is not what we say unless we are making a joke about how lonely we are. I am glad we are friends. I am glad you are my friend. I am glad I am your friend. I am glad you are a friend of mine. Those are more working statements.
