Job = what you do for money usually with a company as an employer
Career = What you work towards with long term goals - a path you choose, sometimes involving education, for long term income.

My career is being a teacher, but I float from job to job teaching to pay my rent. I am a teacher for hire. I take jobs always but my career goal is steady work as a teacher.

Yes, a job may only represent a position taken for money solely. Perhaps it is not what a person would prefer to do forever.不是某个人最理想的职业。On the other hand, one thinks of a career as something chosen for the long haul, where someone hopes to improve and progress.
