Korean Idioms?
I'm curious.. what are some Korean idioms?
A few examples of English idioms include:
- "It's raining cats and dogs" (very loud and noisy rain storm)
- "You're the apple of my eye" (someone who is cherished above all others)
- "Put a sock in it" (tell a noisy person or a group to be quiet)
etc. etc. etc.
(If you want to know more about the idioms or other idioms you can go to this website: http://www.idiomsite.com/) ^^
Anything would be helpful. Thanks so much! ^^I'm sorry, I guess my question wasn't very clear. I am not looking for translations of these phrases, I was just giving them as an example. My question is really just asking what some expressions are that are said in Korea that foreigners might be confused by if they translated them literally. Thanks!

비가 억수같이 내리다. be raining cats and dogs
눈에 넣어도 아프지 않다.the apple of one's eye
In my opinion, I think [가장 소중한 사람] is better.
입 다물어.Put a sock in it
Personally, I think [조용히 하세요] is better.
Sure enough, as a non native speaker in Korean, I’m no authority on Korean idioms. But I think those idioms in English are maybe not idioms in another language. I mean, the means of expressing thought vary from language to language.
