I want to know the exact meaning of 'stayed around long enough'
Most of Korean and Japanese translatings are 'idled time away' or 'did shilly-shally' Are they correct? What is your opinion?

'If I lived long enough' is the meaning. He is making a joke out of the inevitable. We all die eventually.
W use 'stay around long enough' to imply that we know something bad will happen in a situation.
Last night I saw my father get drunk and fall down. I new if I stayed around long enough, something like this would happen.
Shaw used this common expression to talk about his death.
