Why is "papaya" vulgar or obscene in Vietnamese?
My Vietnamese teacher told me to never say "papaya" ( trái Đu đủ) because if my pronunciation is incorrect then I would say something obscene. Why should I avoid this word?

haha never thought about this before. Yes, if your pronunciation is incorrect then you better don't say "đu đủ" because it sounds like "đụ" which means "fuck"

in some case, when a funny guy say "papaya", he/she want to mention about women's breasts :)

May be your pronunciation like “đụ” (instead of "đủ"). It means "fuck" in English. Don't worry, we will understand you in almost circumstances if you say full word "trái đu đủ" (of course, except some funny guy ....)
