meaning and translation of the words fui and estuve in spanish
dont understand what meaning and how can i translate this word - "estuv" and "fui" in these examples.
1. Yo que estuve y fui el primer conquistador
2. que estuve bebiendo toda el día
first i translate - I was the first conquistador
and second one - drinking all day
but still i dont grasp some thing viz. - combination "que estuve" and the difference between use of "ir" and "fui".

estuve means ( i'm been) is the past and takes part of the verb ( estar), it's used for to indicate a place or your mood, or behind a verb, ex ( yo estuve en italia), ( yo estuve mal por ti). Instead (fui) takes part of two verbs ( go) and ( be) that in Spanish is translated such as ( ir ) and ( ser), fui is third person. If you put it in the verb ( ser) means i was, if you put it in ( ir) means, I went.

Forget about those sentences, They are to difficult to learn from.
ESTUVE= I have been there/sick/at the officce/cooking/on top.
FUI= to go(Past tense) went.
IR= to go(present tense)
