Vale has differents meanings: The first one is OK Example: Vale, lo entendí. And also can be used like a verb, Example: Él no vale nada. Taken form WORTH. And the other one has to do with Price, Example: ¿Cuanto vale esto? talking about money.

I think "vale" is only used in spain with the meaning: "it's ok", for the rest of the times it would mean something refering to price. Example: "cuanto vale esto ?" (how much does it cost ?) or with the meaning of worth. Example: "no vale la pena" (it doesn't worth it). sorry for my english.

I agree with Patricio Aguilera, but I would like to add this: "vale" as OK is used only in Spain. There are other ways to say OK in Spanish: "Bueno", "Está bien" y "De acuerdo". Also, colloquial in Mexico: "Sale". In Argentina: "Dale".
