How are you- like como estas in spanish How do you do- que tal, que paso, como esta usted... ( asking about how you doing) How about you - like saying (y tu?) Am good, thanks..and you/how about you? Estoy bien, gracias! y tu? Hope that helped! Bueno suerte ^^

"How do you do?" - for the first meeting. "How are you?" - asking someone about their heath and mood. It's a standard greeting for people you already know. "...how about you?" - this follows your own statement. "I'm fine, how about you?" "I've been very busy, how about you?"

how are you and how do you do =is usually used when you greet or ask some one if they are fine. how about you= is used when some one ask or greet you first and then after ward your the one whose going to ask him/her.
