"Catalogue" (or "catalog" in American English):
A catalog is simply a list (often with descriptions) of items found in a place. A star catalog lists stars in the night sky. A library catalog lists all of the books contained in the library.
This word can also be used as a verb: The act of making a catalog.
Example: "He cataloged all the science books in the city library"
However, the word "catalog" is most often used to refer to a printed booklet that lists items for sale. These catalogs, of course, were most commonly used to advertise products available for purchase by mail. And since so many people shop online now, you will see websites refer to their "online catalog".
