Incomprehensible sentence in the passive voice
Hi everyone!
I'd perfomed some exercises about passive voice and faced with this sentence: "We were sent a letter the day before yesterday". You can google this phrase easily. Is it passive voice? oO It's not clear for me. If it's passive, then what is active?
Thanks in advance!

"We were sent a letter the day before yesterday." Yes, it's definitely passive. You have the "to be" + past participle (were sent), which means the subject received the action. An active sentence simply has the regular verb (sent), so the subject performs the action.
The active sentence for your example would be, "Somebody sent us a letter the day before yesterday."
