Tagalog are doon and roon interchangable?
Do both doon and roon mean the same thing? Or is doon used in a different way then roon.
For example: Anong gusto mong gawin doon? or May daan roon?
Could I use either in place of another?
Thanks

We used doon when it followed a word, which ends a consonant.
Example: Hindi sya pumunta kse wala naman sya pakinabang doon.
We used roon when it followed a word, which ends a vowel.
Example: Banda rito, banda roon.
Hope that helps!

The same is true for the words daw/raw (was said) and din/rin (also). When the preceding word ends in a consonant, the "d" version is used. When the preceding word ends in a vowel, the "r" version is used. In fact this change from d to r can be seen in other words as well, such as dami (plenty) and its adjective form marami (many).
