I think you mean "ingenuo"? it's hard to tell, I think it is rather negative, because it means a gullible person, a person who is easily fooled.. On the other hand, the meaning of "ingenuo" could be like "pure" "innocent" , "naive" and in this sense is rather positive. I would say, it's negative, but well depend on the context. Se lo puedes decir a alguien que es muy inocente, por ejemplo, si este alguien es engañado fácilmente, le dices: ¡que ingenuo!, diría que como adjetivo tendría un sentido negativo, porque indica falta de astucia en algunos casos.
