When you praise, use "太 adj 了”, when you describe, use "可 adj 了“
ex.
(you are eating something...)这个真好吃,太棒了!
(later you tell your friend this is good) 我吃过这个,可好吃了!/可棒了!

Exclaiming right at the moment => 太...了. It has a connotation of "too ... to be true". If I have to translate them, I'd go for "(omg) That's so great!" and "I'm telling you, that's really great."

太好吃了means it's too tasty.可好吃了 means it's really tasty, not really different,no need be confused
