Suffer or Suffers ?
Is 'suffer' is correct or it should be replaced by 'suffers' ?
Some players on the team "suffer" from chronic knee problems and will not play in the next playoff .
Replacing suffer by suffers and the sentence would be like :
Some players on the team "suffers" from the chronic knee problems and will not play in the next playoff .
Which one is correct and why ?I will really appreciate the help . Thanks in advance .

Some players = they, so "they suffer". "The team" is not the subject of the sentence.
