Who can tell me the differences between 'unlucky' and 'luckless'? Are they the same?

i never heard luckless before.. but both give the same sense. if i guess luckless means without luck.. and unlucky means luck is bad.

They mean the same thing. I don't recall seeing "luckless" being used. It is a lot more natural to say, "Wow you are unlucky" than "Wow you are luckless". Even though both sentences mean and function the same.
