The programme starts at 8.00 but the actual film doesn't start until 8.30.
Does it mean "advertisement"?

Without seeing the full context of the sentence, it's hard to say -- but it sounds as though the film is part of a special event, and that perhaps someone will be speaking at 8pm, possibly to introduce the film.
