What I can tell you now are:
1) あの人はお医者さんのよう です。means "That person seems to be a doctor."
(situation: "well, someone told me he was a doctor." ← you yourself don't make sure yet, but someone told you so.)
2) あの人はお医者さんのよう です。means "That person does like a doctor."
(situation: You know he isn't, but he acts like a doctor such as curing or taking care of somebody.)
3) あの人はお医者さんのように見えます。means "That person looks like a doctor. "
(situation: When that person is just doing what ordinary doctor does such as wearing a white coat. Even he's just in a Halloween costume, you can say this!)
As you know, we Japanese like to use「~のような」for えんきょく表現(euphemistic expression), this is "sort of"or "kind of".
As giving an example to make you understand easily, is the same as "like" in English.
Does this help you?
