In the UK, college teaches students up to a HND standard which is a Higher National Diploma. University continues on and teaches beyond this level to Degrees, Honours Degrees and Post Honours Degrees and more. Basically university is were you can gain the highest level of education available. Hope this helps.

A college is basically one school ie a school of liberal arts. A University combines many different schools all under one roof. ie a school of arts and sciences, school of architecture and a school of engineering. That's how it is in America.

College and University are basically the same thing, the schooling that comes after high school. It is also known as secondary school in some parts of the world.
