Could you please tell me if you have any electric typewriters _____?
A. in store
B. in stock
Note: Is there a reason why A is less preferred answer? I can’t wrap my head around it. ThanksI think I have heard in TV commercials that "XXXX is now in store." Did I hear it wrong?

you can say that too, but it's not clear if you are referring to ones that you want to buy, or just in general. For example, in a manager's office.

Does A needs a 'the' to be correct? "Could you please tell me if you have any electric typewriters in THE store?"
