Yet refers to time, up until a certain time: "I haven't done that yet" (Up until now I havent done that)
However is used to start saying something that contradicts something previously said: " I don't like desserts, however I love chocolate!" Or can mean "in whatever way", for example "However you look at it, chocolate is delicious!"

'Yet' and 'however' can both be conjunctions, which are more formal versions of 'but'. In this context, they have the exact same meaning.
'Yet' can also refer to time, as Steve described.

In your case (in conjunction)
Yet: is used to add something to the previous statement (and not the opposite of it)
eg: I'm have determined a new way to learn English and yet I'm having fun doing it
However : is used to place an opposite statement to the previous one
eg: I can speak English however I can't spell a word , ( lol that's funny just for example)
I'm not quite sure but that's the way I'm using it and i understand it
Best of luck with learning English !
